Trend is down.. it needed to hold under 7100 the other day and it did. Not sure where the bottom is now, could go as far as 6600. 6620, 6800 and 6930 big supports but 6930 not going to hold with this momentum

I kept thinking it would push above the 50 on the 5 min and hold....my fault I was trying to anticipate a reversal.....all part of the learning process but that hurt ....

Chin up Anstel.. less is more in these conditions, completely different to last year. Last year I mostly used the 5 min and hourly charts, this year I'm more 1 hour, 4 hour and daily.
Need to try and trade with the trend (I know its easier said than done), and watch what happens at the big pivots. Keep losses on a tight leash and don't add. Usually when it bottoms there's capitulation like we had on 9th Feb. Until that happens rallies will probably keep getting sold off.
Nothing wrong with longs but need to put them on at inflection points so you can ditch on a breakdown... if you're trading miles above support and go long its a mess.. same with shorts really, have to wait for rejection.
Personally thinking there's more down in this as long as trade under 7000. Will see if US markets can make their way back to the Feb lows.

Thanks Mcg i have big problems with pullbacks....I don't mind taking losses so that's an improvement .....sometimes you know, I think I'm never going to get the hang of this...but everyone get losing periods so I will just brush it off and carry on.....you were right all along...well done...that's experience I guess...oh well onward and upward... I just remember all the good trades ive done and take reassurance from that....cheers...

Quote from Jack 2 on 23rd March 2018, 2:52 amSorry to hear that, anstel, why were you long? It was obvious something nasty was about to happen after FOMC yesterday. Big news today, all supports were broken. I hope you managed to settle your loss. Don't trade long all the time. Sounds like a dangerous strategy. Nick adviced to stay short above.
