Todays post here

Theres the 7750....... see what it does now.

Hi Nick,

Please can I get your advice. I have been holding a long term trade short on the FTSE at 7300. Do you think we will get back to this level anytime soon? Do you think the market could go a lot higher in 2018?

Ouch, thats quite a loss to be running. Who really knows what the bigger picture holds, though I am more bullish than bearish overall for this year. I think we may see 8000 in the not too distant future. I can't tell you what to do, but I am expecting a bit of a dip down from 7750ish to 7600ish then a climb back.

7750 . Turn and burn or further rises?!

Definitely turn and burn!

It's almost as if the algos have added 200 points on to the 7490-7560 trading range it's that similar. Keep having to remind myself that 7750-60 isn't critical resistance yet as it hasn't been defined.. although I think we top out around here and head back to 7600 next couple of weeks. I'm short here at 7750 and looking for 7690-700 initially. The bond yield rise could be a catalyst for some actual selling.

Raks - I don't know how new you are to trading but none of us can really predict where it's going at any given point.. all you can do is look for attractive set ups on the charts (sell resistance, buy support, buy breaks of resistance, sell breaks of support). It's not easy but that's all you can do, manage your risk with stop losses and position sizing and cash profits regularly. Looking at the chart, 7300 is a terrible short as it's a key support area (not having a go, just saying in terms of what you'd look for before entering). What Nick's put re the outlook seems about right... once we broke above 7600 it kind of kills the possibility of immediate downside. Odds are very good though that we retest the breakout soon and if I was you that's where I'd look to exit for a loss. This is a bubble.. at some point it will collapse and there will be an incredible amount of money to be made on the short side. But it needs to set up right on the charts before it can happen. It's very difficult to trade a longer view when the vix is at 9 so better off focusing on smaller moves and taking profits. Remember, no market is too high to buy in an uptrend or too low to sell in a downtrend. Everyone is thinking we get a correction this year so we might see 7000 again but momentum weakens before it reverses so that might not happen until the summer, so wouldn't want to be holding and hoping for that long as it's not pleasant

Sell more here, 7100 is coming soon according to MCG..

Help, advice needed! Will Dax stay in a range now or we are heading to 13150-160 today?

Just reading some of these comments....lets get one thing straight....nobody knows...nobody .....where the market will go...Its in a pretty strong uptrend at the moment and I would imagine 7950 7990 is on the cards this year... But let's be honest once we are looking at a swing long or short trade it's not easy to predict.... Today I shorted at 48 53 and 55 but I came out too early.....never mind I banked some points ....best of luck for 2018....

25 points on DAX in 2 minutes. Genius.
